Tamika Williams

President of HHIBAC

Greetings, it is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the virtual home of Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Alumnae Chapter (HHIBAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is a public service organization founded on the campus of Howard University by 22 collegiate women on January 13, 1913, to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 300,000 initiated members and over 1,000 chartered chapters worldwide.  We embrace our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:  Economic Development, Education Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.

Since our chartering on February 26, 2012, we have seen a steady growth in our membership thus allowing us to have an increased impact on our community. Each year we grant a scholarship to a female senior graduating from each of the 4 high schools in our service area (Hardeeville, Okatie, Pritchardville, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island). Our community outreach also includes our youth programs Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and Junior Jazz camp. We look forward to expanding our community impact through economic, physical and mental health education and programs. To support our programs, we host several events throughout the year including an afternoon of jazz in the fall and the Peppermint Jam in the spring. We can also be supported through the Community Foundation of The Lowcountry.

Thank you for visiting our virtual home and continue to visit for updates on our events.

Sincerely,

Tamika Williams

HHIBAC President
